Yiling Wu

Yiling Wu is a contemporary embroidery artist from Taiwan, currently based in London. She specialised in embroidery sculpture, and her adventurous spirit fuels her creative journey.

 

Yiling’s area of expertise lies in digital embroidery, and her work has been showcased at esteemed events such as London Design Festival 2023 and London Craft Week 2024 where she participated as embroidery artist.

 

“I certainly love to see the freedom and breathing spaces while creating my embroidery pieces, and I challenge traditions and boundaries with them.”

Her artistic exploration revolves around the intricate interplay between embroidery and cross-disciplinary materials, challenging the intriguing contrast between tradition and modernity. Her inspiration flows from different angles of her life, from observing fleeting moment in life to uncertain moment in nature.

“I am attracted by fleeting moments in life, while desperately trying to catch something but slips. So I created something that will capture them for good.”
